This year, IDPs in Ukraine are eligible to receive financial assistance from UNHCR for renting housing. Find out who is eligible, what are the conditions of the program and how to apply

In 2025, internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine can count on financial assistance for renting housing thanks to the initiative of the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).


Where does the program operate?


Assistance is available in the following regions


- Kyiv city and Kyiv region

- Dnipropetrovska oblast

- Poltava region

- Kirovohrad region

- Zaporizhzhia region


What does the assistance include?


Under the program, families are reimbursed for the cost of renting a home for 6 months. This is a significant support for those who currently need a stable and safe place to live.

Who can apply?


Assistance is available for:


- IDPs or persons who have returned from abroad and are currently living in temporary accommodation (modular towns, schools, hospitals, etc.);

- People who rent housing with unsatisfactory conditions or are at risk of eviction;

- Families who have a plan for self-sufficiency after the program (employment, starting a business, studying, etc.).


Important conditions for participation:


- The family must find housing on their own and pay the first two months of rent - the costs will be reimbursed;

- Participation is not allowed if the family has already received rental assistance or has a valid subsidy.


How to apply?


To participate in the program, please fill out the application form at the link. You can also find detailed information on the procedure and conditions there.

Important! Submission of the application form does not guarantee automatic participation in the program - the decision on inclusion is made after the application is reviewed.


How do I receive financial assistance?

The financial support will be credited to the Vibrant digital wallet in US dollars to the person identified as the head of the household during the data collection. The participant will then receive an SMS with a link to download the app.

This greatly simplifies the process of obtaining the necessary financial support for those who have lost their homes due to the war.
