What documents do I need to travel abroad?


To travel abroad, you must have the following documents (depending on the purpose of your trip)


- Foreign biometric passport.

- Child's travel document (if necessary).

- Diplomatic passport.

- Service passport.

- Seafarer's identity card.

- Other documents required by international treaties of Ukraine.

To travel abroad in your own car, you need the following documents:


- A valid national driving licence.

- Vehicle registration certificate.

- Identification mark of Ukraine on the car.

- A licence plate of a national standard.

- Compulsory insurance contract Green Card.


If you are travelling by your own car, you will need a Green Card insurance policy, which is mandatory for travelling abroad. To avoid problems when crossing the border, we recommend that you apply for a policy quickly and conveniently on the Visit Ukraine portal.




How do I get to Budapest Airport?


By train 


- Train №749/149 Kyiv - Vienna runs through Budapest, so you can get to the Hungarian capital. The train departs from Kyiv at 12:06 and arrives in Budapest at 08:20.

- Train 40 Mukachevo - Budapest - departure from Mukachevo at 04:11, arrival in Budapest at 14:53.

- Train 368 ‘Mukachevo - Budapest’ runs daily: departure from Mukachevo at 05:14, arrival in Budapest at 14:53.

- Train 9/10 ‘Kyiv - Budapest - Kyiv’ - departure from Kyiv at 10:16, arrival in Budapest at 06:00.

By bus


- Kyiv - Budapest: price from 3,000 UAH, journey time from 26 hours.

- Lviv - Budapest: price from 1,700 UAH, journey time from 12 to 17 hours depending on the route.

- Odesa - Budapest: price from 2,940 UAH, journey time about 36 hours.

- Dnipro - Budapest: price from 4,000 UAH, journey time about 43 hours.

- Chernivtsi - Budapest: price from 3,400 UAH, journey time about 28 hours.

- From Kyiv: the distance to Budapest Airport is 1,123 km. Approximate journey time: 14 hours.

- From Lviv: the distance to Budapest Airport is 579 km. Approximate journey time is 7 hours and 27 minutes.

- From Odesa: the distance to Budapest Airport is 1,329 km. Approximate journey time is 17 hours.

- From Dnipro: the distance to Budapest Airport is 1,477 km. Approximate journey time is 19 hours.

- From Chernivtsi: the distance to Budapest Airport is 710 km. Approximate journey time: 9 hours and 23 minutes.
